September Favorites

Can you believe it’s about to be October?? I feel like I ask myself the same question every time the end of another month approaches. I would love to just grab Father Time and wrap a couple fifty-pound weights around his ankles, because he is running off with all my time! How do you guys slow down and enjoy your time?

Lately I’ve been spending my time trying to enjoy the everyday things a little more. Like…The little things that God gives me… Love, Food, Cooking, Health, The Weather, Loved Ones. So to end the month I wanted to share a few of our favorite things here at Myra’s Garden.

Oh my Goodness! Can we talk about this weather please?? It has been amazing! It honestly makes me feel like Fall is becoming a reality! And you know what that means? It’s time to plant our Fall Veggie Gardens! Woohooooo, I love Food!

As it’s time to plant our fall vegetable gardens, I thought it would be good to offer up a little information about adding Compost to your vegetable garden.

Adding Compost to your vegetable garden is a great way to add nutrients back into your soil. Nutrients fuel the veggies planted in your garden, and help restore life to depleted soils. Compost can also help retain moisture in your soil, which is a great way to reduce the amount of time you spend watering. Continue reading

Nature in Uncommon Places

When I think of Nature, I think of wooded areas, running water, fields of grass and the Things that live within those places. I don’t usually think of cement parking lots, abandoned buildings, high-rise hotels, or airports. Nature in the latter places would be “Uncommon” to me.

Sometimes it seems like the most “out-of-place” things in nature are often the most beautiful.

I took this photo a few weeks ago at a gas station here in Bay City. I was just doing the usual, pumping gas, when I noticed this beautiful little guy chillin’ on top of one of the bumper poles near the gas pump. I thought…. Continue reading

Flowers Just For You Mum!

Good Morning Loves,

I’m so thankful for the rain today, somehow it always gives me the feeling of fall and winter months. I just love a long day of rain, cat naps, and listening to how happy the earth is after it’s thirst has been quenched. Everything just seems so much happier, so full of life. The calming hum of singing bugs seems louder, the blades of grass seem greener, and the flowers seem brighter… It’s just a feeling I get, I guess?

One thing I know is true about the month of September. It’s time to change out our Seasonal Color. I love my seasonal color in a Clay Planter, simple, easy, and mobile. I don’t get to spend a lot of time at home, so this is a simple way of brightening up my home without the commitment of flowerbeds. Although this is true, many people enjoy Planter Pots as beautiful accents to their porches, patios, walkways, or to their flower beds. The possibilities are endless, whether you are a seasoned pro or you are just trying your thumb out! Continue reading

There’s nothing like the start of a new day…Wake-up Early before the Dawn, Brew my favorite cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, Read my Bible, and Make my way to Work… All three-hundred and fifty feet of it ha-ha.

The trip from home to work is usually pretty enjoyable, but here lately I’ve caught myself smacking mosquitoes off my body more than I have noticed the beauty of each day. That’s why I was so excited to run across this lovely find! Dirtbag Darling revealed an All-Natural DIY Bug Spray That Actually Works! Continue reading

Gearing up for Fall

Myra’s Garden is starting fresh this fall! And the word on our minds is “beautiful”. Just wanted to share the definition of beauty with you this morning (I think the definition is beautiful in itself) …
