It was a day to admire…
As the sun rose softly over the clouds, we basked in the presence of a very beautiful bride. Her golden skin was glowing from within, and we gathered around as her soft brown flowing hair was to be pinned.
The dress was a sea of beauty… hints of rose gold flowing through an off shade of white. The simple lace details fit her curves just right. We laced up the back & pulled on her boots, you know how Texas girls are with their shoes. The boots were old, scuffed up & worn, similar to those who have been married long before. There’s something beautiful in wisdom & scars, something that should be shared before we all meet the stars.
We walked across the street and down the aisle, everyone stood & it made her smile… Her daddy was there trimmed & pressed, the love in his eyes put her mind to rest. His mind drifted back to a little baby, his eyes were fixed as she warmed his soul…for him that is a memory that will never get old. Blink and you miss it, you can never go back, the baby once a girl is now a young lady. Daddy joins their hands and the emotions well up, tears are shared & kisses exchanged… Could it be that things will never be the same?
