As I sat in the not so blissfully winter air, I began to dream of spring summer and all things warm and beautiful… then I thought oh my goodness I can order seeds for my Garden!! Woohoo! One step closer to warmth and good food 😉

So today I did just that. I went online to my trusty Heirloom Seed provider, Annie’s Heirloom Seeds. You can order a catalog or browse online… I prefer to have a catalog on hand to daydream through as I flip the wonderfully crisp pages, then when I’m ready to place my order I go online and submit it!

If you’re not sure what to plant here’s a great little guide to a few of the basic veggies we plant here in the south.

To give you an idea of what I ordered see the following:

  • Broccoli
  • Cabbage (Summer)
  • Carrots
  • Cauliflower
  • Celery
  • Onions
  • Peas

I started with a small list of veggies I can sow outdoors in February… that way I don’t get overwhelmed with lots of little packages containing thousands of seeds. I’ll place another order in February for the seeds I’ll need to sow outdoors in March.

One other thing I’ll be order today is Potatoes. Yes. You heard me Potatoes. I love me some Potatoes. haha have I said it too many times?

POTATOES! I’m ordering my Seed Potatoes here.

haha. ok ok. So I’m going to order these and plant them in February as well. Looks like I’ve got plenty of work cut out for myself! Phew 😉 Do you have any plans for your vegetable garden? Don’t have one you say? Well get started now, it’s the perfect time to begin a new journey to saving green and eating clean! Stay tuned for a video post of my seed order and further details of my #eatmyyard journey. Until Tomorrow…
