Motivation Monday

What are you guys doing for spring cleaning motivation this year? I’ve seen that some people are reading “this is how you clean your house” kinda books, others are taking measures from motivational quotes and inspiring stories via the abundance of blogs, and some people, like me, have been practicing the age old art of avoiding..

Yes.. I admitted it.. I’ve been avoiding the Spring Cleaning Itch! I have this room, I call it the laundry room. It’s basically one of those rooms that you walk into and you drop everything! Drop the shopping bags, drop the antique finds that will “someday” turn into projects, drop the piles of laundry, drop the makeup, drop the shoes, the hair products, heck I even drop the groceries in there sometimes!

It all starts to pile up after a while. And I feel like that can get quite overwhelming. It just creates this yucky cluttery feel in the house.. You almost don’t notice it til bit by bit it creeps up on you a little at a time. Then BAM you’re stressed tired and plum worn out of any kinda motivation you might’ve once had.

That being said, I figured the only kinda way I could get rid of the mess and the stress is to stop avoiding it and get rid of it!

So yesterday I did just that! I decided to commit to one room (I chose the laundry room for obvious reason) and I got to it. First thing I did was clean up everything off the floor, then off the desk, off the shelves, and I swept up. Once I started to accumulate a pile of stuff that needed to be stored or chunked I went with that ol’ mythical rule “If you haven’t used it in a year, chunk it!”

Now that may not be exactly how it goes, but you get the gist of it right?? I cleaned and chunked and cleaned and put up. Annnnd nearly 7 hours later I was done!

It feels so good to walk into that clean room, my spirits were lifted.. even my dogs feel better! Check it out..

Happy New Year.

It’s so good to be back. I love that I can say that honestly and whole-heartedly. I really do love my work. It’s amazingly astonishing that those words are coming out of my brain through the tips of my fingers haha. But seriously, I just want to stop right Here and give Thanks, all the Glory, Honor, and Credit to God for guiding me to exactly where I am today. And I’m thankful that He never tires to remind me that He’s got it under control!

I also want to say that I love you guys (seems like I’m full of love, joy, and all things peacefully nice this morning)>>you guys better eat it up now. hehe. You guys also make my work worth while and I want to Thank You for it.

How was your Holidays? Did you celebrate the birth of Jesus and Ring in the New Year?? We did. It’s been a blast. Took a 9 day Holiday and now we are ready for 2015! I’m also beginning to be Thankful for Mondays. That should be a Hashtag. #thankfulformondays yes. I like the sound of that. It’s like the perfect opportunity to start every week out right.

Motivational Monday

How was your weekend? Mine flew by!! I feel like I say that almost every Monday, so I don’t really know why I am ever surprised by this realization… 😉

I did enjoy our Family Ugly Sweater Christmas Party… A few of us actually made our own tacky creations, and some just had some plain ol’ traditionally ugly sweaters lol.

I just love that Ugly Sweaters are becoming a sensation… it’s so much fun to see the different sweaters some people create! And it was actually a lovely weekend to wear a sweater… I was worried we’d literally be Sweating … thank The Lord that we weren’t!

I get a scripture sent to me by text from 89.3 KSBJ every Monday… today’s verse was Psalm 40:8, “God, I surrender my plans & desires to You. I want to obey Your will for my life. Show me the way so I can do Your will.” This verse was extremely motivating for me, because I felt a little worried and anxious about a few things this morning and then… When I read that scripture I was like Thank You for reminding me Lord, I do surrender my plans & desires to you once again today, and I do want to obey Your will for my life.

So instead of worrying, I’m watching and listening for guidance and direction. Thanks for the motivation Lord!

I’m finding some really cool links for planning my Spring Garden… which I hope to start planting in January… I’ll be sharing this info soon!

P.S. Don’t forget about the Candlelight Christmas Eve Service hosted by Myra’s Garden and presented to you by the Vineyard Church this Wednesday December 24th at 6PM!

#socialmedia class

Hey guys! How’s your Monday going? Today was a #MotivationalMonday for us here at Myra’s…

FullSizeRender

We had the privilege of being a part of a social media class lectured by Janet Cohen, a freelance writer and collaborator with Constant Contact. Like her page on Facebook or check out her Website, she has loads of really useful information! Janet shared so much great information with us, I can’t believe I almost DID NOT attend the class… (Ahhhhhh!) What a missed opportunity that would’ve been! I totally recommend being a part of any social media opportunity, we learned so much about marketing and the different directions that social media is taking.

I believe being “online” and “connected through social media” is very important in today’s marketplace. This week Myra’s is Starting each day to achieve Greatness in our business. Like the quote states above “we don’t have to be great to start, but we have to start to be great.” In order to achieve world class greatness (our goal) we believe in starting each day and diligently, faithfully, & obediently trusting that God will lead us.

Be on the look out for different outlets to connect with us on….. look out YouTube here we come!! Oh, and Don’t forget about our Festive Florals class on December 4th!

Until Tomorrow…

-XOXO,

Myra’s
